Two Nacional Cacao Plants – perfect for serious chocolate lovers and home growers. This rare Nacional Cacao (also known as Arriba Nacional) is one of the most prized cacao varieties in the world for making high-quality, fine flavor chocolate.

Each order includes two healthy Nacional Cacao starter plants in large 3.5" x 8" deep nursery pots (6–9 inches tall from soil level). Much bigger and stronger than the tiny plants most sellers offer.

Nacional Cacao is famous for its exceptional chocolate flavor with floral, nutty, and fruity notes — highly sought after by craft chocolate makers.

Important Growing Timeline: These are seedling trees. They typically begin flowering in 2–3 years and produce cacao pods in 3–4 years. We include two plants to ensure better cross-pollination and higher yields.

ATTENTION: Do not order if your area is experiencing temperatures below 50°F. We are not responsible for cold damage during shipping.

All orders include USPS Priority Shipping.

Why Nacional Cacao is Special

  • One of the original “fine flavor” cacao varieties from Ecuador
  • Renowned for producing premium chocolate with complex floral and fruity aromas
  • Fast-growing but manageable size (10–15 ft with pruning)
  • Organically grown in Florida using OMRI-approved methods

Growing Nacional Cacao Guide

  • Light: Full shade for the first 2 weeks after arrival, then bright indirect light / partial shade
  • Temperature: 70–85°F ideal. Protect from anything below 50°F
  • Soil: Rich, moist, well-draining acidic soil
  • Water: Keep consistently moist (loves high humidity)
  • Pollination: Benefits greatly from cross-pollination — that’s why we send two plants

Pro Tip: Place new arrivals in full shade (no direct sun) for 1–2 weeks so they can acclimate after shipping. Gradually introduce them to more light.
